MakeHay
Add-ons, referrals and your account

Earn cash with the partner program

Apply to the partner program, share your link or code, and earn 30% of what MakeHay makes from each business you send, for 12 months.

Where
The partner program page

The partner program is for people who send service businesses to MakeHay, such as dealers, coaches and creators for the trades. It pays cash. The referral program in Settings › Referrals pays in free months instead.

Apply

  1. Step 1: Open the partner program page and click Apply to the program.
  2. Step 2: Fill in Your name and Email, then answer Who do you reach? A website or social profile link and anything else you want to add are optional.
  3. Step 3: Click Apply to the partner program.
  4. Step 4: MakeHay reads every application and replies by email within a few days. If it's a fit, the reply has your partner link.

What you earn

  • 30% of the 1.5% platform fee on the online payments each business takes.
  • 30% of what each business pays for add-ons. Domain renewals aren't shared.
  • Both for 12 months from each business's signup.

A business is yours when it signs up from your link or types your code on the sign-up page. Each business counts once, under the partner program or the referral program, never both. A business you own or work at doesn't count.

How you're paid

  • Statements close on the 15th of each month for the month before.
  • Balances of $50 or more go to your Stripe account. Smaller balances carry forward.
  • To get paid, click Set up payouts on your partner page and finish Stripe's setup. Stripe pays your bank on its usual schedule.
  • US partners only for now.

Your partner page

Your partner page has your link and code, the businesses you sent, your earnings by month and your statements. Click Change code to pick a new code. Your old link stops working when you do. If you own a MakeHay account with the email you applied with, Open your partner page in Settings › Referrals also gets you there.

Tip: To get back to your partner page, click Sign in to your partner page on the partner program page, enter the email you applied with and click Email me my partner page. MakeHay emails you the link. The full rules are in the Terms of Service.
