What's new

MakeHay ships improvements every week. Here's what changed recently.

Setup

Clear or snooze your setup checklist

The “Let's get you set up” checklist now gets out of your way. Dismiss the steps you've finished, snooze the ones you're not ready for (they come back in a week), or snooze the whole list at once. Changed your mind? There's an Undo.

Quotes

Simpler quote filters, newest customers first

The quote list is now filtered by All, Draft, Sent, or Voided — fewer tabs to think about, and each row still shows its exact status. The customers list now shows when each customer was added and puts your newest customers at the top.

Email

Replies to your emails come straight to you

Every quote, invoice, and reminder MakeHay sends on your behalf now carries a Reply-To that reaches you — your business email, or your login email until you set one. When a customer hits Reply, it lands in your inbox. Test emails from Automations are now sent exactly like the real ones, so what you see is what your customers get.

Automations

Automations, one row each with its own switch

The Automations page is now one row per automation — quote follow-ups, overdue invoice reminders, visit reminders, and review requests — each with its own on/off switch. Expand a row to adjust its settings, see how many it has sent, and read the message it sends. Hit “Send me a test” to see exactly what your customers will get.

Invoices & payments

See everything that happened on an invoice

Every invoice now has an activity timeline: created, sent, re-sent, viewed by the customer, reminder sent, paid, receipt sent, or voided — and who on your team did it. No more guessing whether a customer ever opened the invoice.

Quotes

Know when a customer opened your quote

Quotes now show their own history: who created it, which email addresses it went to, when the customer viewed it, and who voided it. Views are recorded by device — MakeHay tells you the quote was opened without guessing at who opened it.

Scheduling

Complete a job without starting it first

Finished a job you never got around to marking as started? You can now mark a scheduled visit complete — or complete and invoice it in one step — straight from the schedule, no need to start it first.

Request forms

A rebuilt request form builder

Edit the built-in questions (name, email, phone, job site, message), drag questions into any order, and add your own with the answer type you need — with a live preview as you go. New forms start with just Name, Email, and Phone. Your settings page now shows each form collapsed with its live status and request count, and share options are ordered Link, Popup button, then Embed.

Everywhere

Collapse the navigation to an icon rail

Want more room for the schedule or a quote? Collapse the left navigation down to a slim icon rail — and the Settings menu too. MakeHay remembers your choice the next time you open it.

Quotes

Your first quote on one screen

New accounts now land on a single screen where the customer, the job site, and the line items live together. Fill it in top to bottom and your first quote is out the door in minutes — no bouncing between pages.

Everywhere

The satellite measurement tool has a new home

The free satellite measurement tool has moved to makehay.io/satellite-measurement-tool. We also refreshed the wording across the site so it's clearer what MakeHay does and who it's for.

Request forms

Put your request form on your own website

Embed your request form on your site with a single line of script, or add a popup button that opens it. The form loads faster, you can send visitors an optional confirmation email when they submit, and each form now has its own stats so you can see which ones bring in work.

Invoices & payments

Connect Stripe right when you need it

You can now connect Stripe at the moment you send an invoice or ask for a deposit, instead of going to settings first. While Stripe is still reviewing your details, MakeHay shows an honest “Stripe is confirming your account” state rather than pretending you're ready to take payment.

Everywhere

MakeHay works in Canada

Canadian postal codes, provinces, and time zones are now fully supported, and addresses locate correctly across the country. When an exact address can't be pinned down, weather, the map, and measuring fall back to the town instead of leaving you stuck.
