Is it really free? What's the catch?
Really free. One account with unlimited clients, quotes, invoices, scheduling, weather rules, and automated follow-ups — free forever, not a trial, no credit card to start. Everything that costs us nothing to run stays free. The only things we'll ever charge for are add-ons with a real per-use cost, like text messaging and AI.
Are there fees when customers pay online?
Online card and bank (ACH) payments carry payment-processing costs, as they do on any platform — standard Stripe processing plus a 0.75% MakeHay platform fee, deducted automatically from the payout. Nothing is ever billed to you, and recording the checks and cash you collect in person is free — no fee, ever.
Will the free plan stay free?
Yes. We're not going to give you the tools, get you moved in, and then start charging for what used to be free. The core stays free. New paid add-ons will be clearly optional, and they'll only exist for things that cost us money every time you use them.
Is there a contract or anything to cancel?
No contract and nothing to cancel — the free plan has no billing at all. If you ever turn on a paid add-on down the road, you'll be able to drop it anytime.
What happens to my data if I leave?
It's yours. Ask us and we'll export it for you, and we delete it as laid out in our privacy policy.
When do the paid add-ons arrive?
They're on the roadmap. Texting, AI, and the extra-seats/crew tools will each be priced when they're ready, and we'll announce them inside the app first. Everything free today stays free — add-ons only ever add.
