Share your link or code
A business that signs up from your link, or enters your code on the sign-up page, is yours. MakeHay is free for them: no plan, no trial, no card, and their first month of No MakeHay branding is free.

Get paid monthly
You earn 30% of what MakeHay makes from each business for 12 months from its signup. Statements close on the 15th, and balances of $50 or more go to your Stripe account.

MakeHay makes money two ways: a 0.75% platform fee on online payments, and paid add-ons. You get 30% of both from every business you send.

How payouts work
- Statements close on the 15th of each month for the month before.
- Balances of $50 or more are paid by Stripe transfer. Smaller balances carry forward to the next statement.
- Payouts go to a Stripe Express account you set up from your partner page in a few minutes. Stripe pays your bank on its usual schedule and issues tax forms where required.
- A refund on an add-on charge takes the share on the refunded part back off your next statement.
- US partners only for now.
The rules
- Your own businesses don't earn. A business you own or work at can't be your referral.
- No bidding on MakeHay brand terms in paid search, and no domains or pages that pass as MakeHay.
- No unsolicited email or texts. Share your link where you already reach people.
- Only say what this site says. MakeHay is free, and the numbers on this page are the numbers.
- A business is attributed to the last partner link it clicked (30 days) or the code it typed at sign-up, once, for good.

FAQ
Partner questions, answered.
When is a business mine?
When it creates its MakeHay account from your link, or enters your code on the sign-up page. Each business has one referrer, ever, so a business that already signed up through someone else stays theirs.
How and when am I paid?
Monthly. Statements close on the 15th for the previous month. If your balance is $50 or more, MakeHay transfers it to your Stripe Express account, which you set up from your partner page. Smaller balances carry forward.
Can I be a partner and a MakeHay customer?
Yes. The referral program pays MakeHay customers in months of No MakeHay branding; the partner program pays cash. A business is attributed once, to whichever link or code brought it, so it earns under one program, not both.
What if a business I sent stops using MakeHay?
Then there's no revenue from it to share. Your 12 months keep running from its signup date either way.
Can I see what a business I sent is paying?
No. Your partner page shows each business's name, when it joined, whether it's taking payments, and your earnings by month. A contractor's payment volume is their business.
Is there a cost to join?
No. Applying is free, and there's nothing to buy. If it's not a fit, we'll say so.
