Is it really free?
Yes. Unlimited customers, properties, quotes, scheduling, and invoices — free forever, not a trial. No monthly plan, no seat fees, and no credit card to start.
What's the catch?
There isn't one. Software features cost us almost nothing to run, so they're free. Later we'll sell optional add-ons with real per-use costs, like text messaging and AI — the mowing-season basics stay free. If customers pay you online by card or bank, those payments carry processing costs, as they would with any provider.
What happens to my route when it rains?
MakeHay pulls the forecast for every property on the schedule and flags the wet days, so you can see the reshuffle coming and move visits the night before. You still can't stop the rain — you just stop finding out about it at the first stop.
Can I take my data with me if I leave?
It's yours. Ask and we'll export everything — customers, properties, visit history, invoices, payments — and we delete what's left as laid out in our privacy policy.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. Sign up with an email and quote your first lawn the same day. There's no trial clock, because there's no paid plan behind it.
