For sealcoating crews
Sealcoating software that's actually free
Few trades are more at the mercy of the sky. Sealer wants 50°F and rising, a dry lot, and about 24 rain-free hours to cure — your software should know that before your crew does. MakeHay does, for $0/mo.
Free forever. No monthly plan, no seat fees, no trial clock.
Sound familiar?
The parts of the job that have nothing to do with the work.
One shower ruins the whole coat
You checked the radar at 6am, sealed by noon, and the pop-up hit at four. Now you're re-sealing a lot for free, eating the material, and explaining to the property manager why their entrance is streaked.
Bids from the tailgate, paperwork at 9pm
Measure the lot, figure the square footage, add crack fill by the foot and oil-spot primer — then retype all of it into a document after dinner. Quotes go out days late, and late quotes lose.
A short season and slow checks
You've got maybe six good months between spring thaw and fall cold. Every invoice a property manager sits on for sixty days is cash missing during the exact months you need it most.
What changes with MakeHay
Quote, schedule, get paid, come back.
Schedule around the weather, not despite it
Sealer is chemistry with a deadline: it wants ground temps around 50°F and rising, a dry surface, and roughly 24 rain-free hours to cure. MakeHay pulls the National Weather Service forecast for each lot's address when you schedule it and warns you when the day can't deliver — too cold to cure, rain on the job day, or rain landing inside the cure window after the coat is down.
- Too-cold flags when the high won't clear what sealer needs to cure
- Rain-in-the-cure-window warnings for the ~24 hours after you seal
- Per-lot forecasts so you reshuffle the week before the trailer's loaded
Quote it before you leave the site
Measure once and quote from the truck: sealcoat by the square foot, crack fill by the linear foot, oil-spot priming and a second coat as flat line items. The customer sees one clean number and approves it with a tap — before the competition calls back.
Get paid without chasing
When the sealer's cured, the approved quote becomes an invoice in one click with a card and ACH pay link. Property managers pay online, automatic reminders chase the slow ones, and the checks you pick up on site get recorded against the job.
Keep every customer for the re-do
A good sealcoat lasts two to three years — which means every lot you seal this summer is a rebook down the road. MakeHay keeps the lot, the square footage, and the pricing on file, so the follow-up quote takes minutes instead of another site visit.
The honest math
Compare the bill, not the brochure.

FAQ
Sealcoating questions, answered straight.
Is it really free?
Yes. Unlimited customers, lots, quotes, scheduling, and invoices — free forever, not a trial. No monthly plan, no seat fees, and no credit card to start.
What's the catch?
No catch buried in a tier. The software costs us almost nothing per crew to run, so it's free. Optional paid add-ons come later only for things that cost real money per use, like texting and AI — quoting, scheduling, and invoicing stay free. Card and ACH payments taken online carry processing costs, as they would with any provider.
Does it understand the cure window?
Yes — that's the point. Fresh sealer needs dry conditions for roughly 24 hours. MakeHay reads the forecast for the hours after your scheduled seal and flags rain landing inside that window, so you don't seal Tuesday afternoon and watch a Wednesday-morning shower undo it.
Can I take my data with me if I leave?
It's yours. Ask and we'll export everything — customers, lots, quotes, invoices, payment history — and we delete what's left as laid out in our privacy policy.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. Sign up with an email and send your first sealcoat quote the same day. There's no trial countdown, because there's no paid plan it converts into.
