Save the documents you ask customers for as templates
Keep a list of documents you often need from customers, like proof of insurance, and request one in a tap from their Files tab.
- Who can do this
- People with the Document templates permission. Sending a request needs Manage customer files.
A document template is a saved request, such as proof of insurance, that you can send to any customer without typing it again.
Add a template
- Step 1: Go to Settings › Document templates.
- Step 2: Click Add template.
- Step 3: Enter the Document name. This is what your customer sees as the document you need.
- Step 4: Add a Default note (optional) with any standing instructions, and click Add template.
Use the pencil to edit a template or the trash can to remove it. Removing a template doesn't affect requests you already sent.
Use a template
- Step 1: Open the customer and go to the Files tab.
- Step 2: Click Request document, then tap a template under Start from a template. It fills in What do you need? and Note (optional).
- Step 3: Click Create request. Nothing is emailed yet, so you can add more.
- Step 4: Click Send on the request. With several waiting, Send all to customer above your requests sends them in one email.
Your customer gets an email with a link to upload the document. They need an email address on file for the request to go out.
