A customer is the person or business you work for. Their quotes, jobs and invoices all live on their page.
- Step 1: Open Customers in the menu and click New customer.
- Step 2: Type the Customer name. It's the only field you have to fill in.
- Step 3: If they're a business, add the Company name. Then check Use the company name as this client's display name to show the business name on lists, quotes and invoices instead of the person's name.
- Step 4: Add a Phone and an Email. Phone numbers format themselves as you type.
- Step 5: For more, click Contact name, billing address & notes. The Contact name becomes the primary contact. Leave it blank and, if you gave a phone or email, the customer name is used.
- Step 6: Click Create customer. Their page opens.
Next, add the property you'll work on: click Add job site under Job sites on the customer's page. See Add a job site to a customer.
Good to know: The billing address doesn't create a job site. Add the job site separately so you can measure it and attach quotes and jobs to it.
Tip: Ready to price the work? If you can create quotes, click New quote at the top of the customer's page and the quote starts with this customer picked.
Tip: Have a list already? Import customers from a spreadsheet instead of typing them in.
