Add a job site to a customer
Add the lot or property where the work happens. Quotes and jobs attach to a job site, and its address powers weather forecasts.
- Who can do this
- People with the Add & edit customers permission
A job site is the lot or property where you do the work. One customer can have many. Quotes and jobs attach to a job site, and you measure from satellite on one.
- Step 1: Open the customer from Customers.
- Step 2: On the Overview tab, find Job sites and click Add job site.
- Step 3: Give it a Label you'll recognize, such as Main lot or Building A.
- Step 4: Start typing the street in Address line 1 and pick the match to fill in the rest, or type it all yourself. City, State and ZIP are required (Province and Postal code if your business is in Canada).
- Step 5: Add Notes if you like, such as a gate code or access details.
- Step 6: Click Add job site.
MakeHay locates the address on the map when you save. Weather forecasts and satellite measuring use that location.
If the address can't be found
The site shows a red badge saying it couldn't be located, and weather is off for it. Fix the address with Edit from the site's menu, or click Retry. If it's found only to the town, weather still works, but check the street address before you measure from satellite.
Edit, measure or archive a site
- To change a site, open the menu next to it, choose Edit, then click Save job site.
- Click Measure to measure the lot from satellite. See Measure a property from satellite.
- To hide a site you no longer use, choose Archive from the menu, then Archive site. Sites with quotes or jobs attached can't be archived, and archiving takes the Archive customers & job sites permission.
