Create and send a quote
Build a quote from your price list, add tax, a discount or a deposit, then email it or share a link your customer can approve.

A quote starts as a draft that saves as you type. When you send it, your customer gets a link to view and approve it.
Build the quote
- Step 1: Go to Quotes and click New quote.
- Step 2: Open the picker under Customer & job site and choose a customer, then a job site. Pick New customer… or New job site… to add one on the spot, or No job site if the work isn't tied to an address.
- Step 3: Click Create quote. The quote builder opens.
- Step 4: Check the title at the top. It starts as the job site's name, or the customer's name if there's no job site. Change it if you like.
- Step 5: Click Add item and pick a service from your price list, or choose Custom item… to write your own line.
- Step 6: Fill in the quantity and check the price. Tap the summary under a line to add a description your customer sees and a category.
- Step 7: In Totals, click Add next to Discount, Tax or Deposit if you need them, and check the Valid until date.
Send it
- Step 1: Click Save & send. On a phone, tap Send in the bar at the bottom.
- Step 2: Check the address in To and add a Personal message (optional) if you like. Preview email shows the email before it goes out.
- Step 3: Click Send quote. The status changes to Sent, then to Viewed once your customer opens it.
No email address, or quoting in person? In the same window, click Get link. Then Copy link to text it, or Open to print to hand over a paper copy. The quote is marked sent either way, and you still see when it's opened and approved.
Tip: Click Preview before sending to see the quote the way your customer will. Most changes save on their own, and Saved at the top of the builder tells you they're in. A discount or deposit saves when you click Save, Preview or Save & send.
Good to know: A quote needs at least one line item before it can be sent. After it's sent, you can only edit it again if your customer asks for changes. See Revise a quote.
