What happens to your website if the add-on ends
If the Website add-on ends, your site stays up for 14 days, then goes offline. Here is what happens to your content and domain, and how to bring it back.
- Where
- Settings › Add-ons
- Who can do this
- The account owner only
The owner cancels from Manage billing on the Website card in Settings › Add-ons. The add-on stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
After it ends
- The site stays up for 14 days, then goes offline. Leads from it stop while it's offline.
- Your content is kept for at least 30 days after the site goes offline. Ask MakeHay and it will export it for you.
- Four weeks after the add-on ends, your own domain is taken off MakeHay's hosting. It stays yours.
- A domain MakeHay registered for you stops renewing. MakeHay hands you its transfer code if you ask.
- You can't publish changes while the add-on is off.
Bring the site back
- Step 1: Go to Settings › Website. A banner says the add-on isn't active.
- Step 2: Click Turn it back on and pay on the Stripe checkout page. While your content is kept, this restores the site.
- Step 3: If your domain was taken off hosting, pick Settings under Site in the editor and click Reconnect beside it.
