Archive or delete a customer
Hide a customer you no longer work with, or delete one added by mistake before anything was sent to them.
- Who can do this
- People with the Archive customers & job sites permission
Archiving hides a customer and keeps their records. Deleting removes them for good, and is only offered when nothing was ever sent to them.
Archive a customer
- Step 1: Open the customer from Customers.
- Step 2: Click Archive at the top of the page.
- Step 3: Click Archive customer to confirm.
The customer drops out of your customer list and out of search. Nothing is deleted.
Good to know: A customer with quotes can't be archived. Void their quotes first, then archive.
Good to know: There's no button to bring an archived customer back, so archive only customers you're done with.
Delete a customer
Delete shows up next to Archive only for a customer with no jobs, no invoices and no quote that was ever sent or approved. That covers test entries, duplicates and leads that went nowhere.
- Step 1: Open the customer and click Delete.
- Step 2: Read what goes with them: their contacts, their job sites and any unsent draft quotes. Their files and messages go too.
- Step 3: Click Delete customer. This can't be undone.
