Close your account
Close your MakeHay account from Settings › Account. Your data is kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, then most of it is deleted.

Closing signs everyone out, stops every email and text, takes the website offline and ends any paid add-ons.
- Step 1: Open Settings › Account and click Close this account.
- Step 2: Under Why are you leaving?, tell us what would have made MakeHay work for you and click Continue. Or click Skip.
- Step 3: Click Download your data to save a copy first. You can't download it after closing.
- Step 4: Type your company name under Type the company name to confirm. Capital letters and extra spaces don't matter.
- Step 5: Click Close the account, then Yes, close it.
Everyone on the team is signed out right away. You get an email that confirms the closure and gives the date your data will be deleted.
What happens to your data
- For 30 days everything is kept, so the account can be reopened with everything as it was.
- After that, your customers, quotes, jobs, job sites, photos and files are deleted.
- Invoice and payment records are kept, along with the quotes, jobs and job sites they came from. A customer named on an invoice is kept as "Deleted customer", with their contacts removed.
Changed your mind?
Within 30 days, reply to the closure email or write to support@makehay.io, and MakeHay reopens the account with everything as it was. Paid add-ons ended when the account closed, so turn them back on in Settings › Add-ons if you want them.
Good to know: Nothing closes until you click Yes, close it. Cancel, Back and No, keep it all leave the account open.
