Create a permission set for a role
Save a combination of permissions as a set, such as Sales or Lead tech. Change the set and everyone on it changes.
- Who can do this
- People with the Team & permissions permission
A set is a saved combination of permissions you can give to any number of people, when you invite them or later. Every account starts with three built-in sets:
- Full access: Everything except the account owner's own controls (billing, payments, deleting the company).
- Office: Customers, quotes, scheduling, jobs and invoices. No settings, reports or automations.
- Field tech: Sees jobs, customers and the calendar; adds notes and photos. Nothing else.
Create a set
- Step 1: Go to Settings › Permissions and click New set.
- Step 2: Enter a Name. Add a Description (optional) that says who the set is for.
- Step 3: Turn on the switches this role needs. Each area shows how many of its switches are on, or hidden when none are.
- Step 4: Click Create set.
Change or delete a set
- Step 1: Click Edit on the set.
- Step 2: Change its name, description or switches, then click Save set. Everyone on the set gets the change, and each person keeps their own changes.
- Step 3: To remove a set, click Delete set. If people or pending invitations are on it, choose the set they move to under Move them to. Their own changes stay with them. Click Delete set again to confirm.
Good to know: Set names must be different from each other. You can only add switches you have yourself. The built-in sets can be renamed and changed like any other set.
Tip: Already set up one person just right? Open their permissions from Settings › Team and use Save as new set… there. See Choose what each person can do.
