Choose which emails MakeHay sends you

MakeHay's own emails come on three lists. Pick yours from Account in your account menu, or leave one list from any email's unsubscribe link.

Account, in your account menu

Besides the emails about your business, MakeHay sends a few emails about MakeHay itself. They come on separate lists, so leaving one keeps the others. Everyone on the team chooses for their own sign-in email.

The lists

  • Getting started tips: Help setting up MakeHay and sending your first quotes, during your first month.
  • Product updates: What's new in MakeHay.
  • Offers and programs: Add-ons, the referral program and the partner program.

Getting started tips also include reminders to finish connecting Stripe, if you start and don't finish.

Choose your lists

  1. Step 1: Open your account menu. On a computer, it's your name at the bottom of the menu. On a phone, it's your initials at the top right.
  2. Step 2: Choose Account. The Your account window opens.
  3. Step 3: Under Emails from MakeHay, turn each list on or off. Each switch saves as soon as you flip it.

Unsubscribe from all turns all three lists off at once. You can turn any of them back on later.

Tip: Owners, and people with the Notifications permission, also find the same switches at the bottom of Settings › Notifications.

Unsubscribe from an email

Every email on a list ends with an unsubscribe link. It takes you off the list that email came from, and your other lists stay as they are. The page it opens also has Unsubscribe from all, to leave every list.

If your email app shows its own unsubscribe button next to the sender, it works the same way: you leave that one list.

Emails that always arrive

These aren't on a list, so you can't unsubscribe from them:

  • Account and security emails, like email verification, password resets and team invites.
  • Billing emails and receipts.
  • Notices about changes to our terms.
  • Alerts about your own customers. Those have their own switches in Settings › Notifications.

Good to know: If emails to your address bounced, or one was marked as spam, MakeHay stops sending these lists to it. The Your account window says so, and you can't turn the lists back on there. If that's a mistake, tell us through Help & feedback.
