Choose which emails you get about your business
In Settings › Notifications, pick which events email you, like a quote approved, an invoice paid online or a new request.
- Who can do this
- Owners, and people with the Notifications permission
Notifications are emails you get when something happens in your business, like a customer approving a quote. You choose which ones arrive.
- Step 1: Open Settings, then Notifications.
- Step 2: Under Email notifications, turn each switch on or off.
- Step 3: Click Save changes.
What you can be told about
- Quote viewed: The customer opened your quote for the first time.
- Invoice viewed: The customer opened your invoice for the first time.
- Quote approved: A customer approved a quote.
- Changes requested: A customer asked for changes on a quote.
- Invoice paid online: An online payment settled on an invoice.
- New request: Someone submitted one of your request forms.
- Customer message: A customer sent you a message from their portal.
- Document received: A customer uploaded a document you requested.
- Contract signed: A customer signed (or declined) a document you sent for signature.
- Referral updates: A business you referred signed up or activated, and free months were added.
- Autopay charge failed: A saved card or bank account couldn't be charged after a visit; the invoice was emailed instead.
- Autopay set up or removed: A customer saved a payment method for autopay, replaced it, or turned autopay off.
Quote viewed and Invoice viewed start off, since they can come often. The rest start on.
Where they go
Notifications go to one address for the whole business: the Business email in Settings › Company. If that's blank, they go to the owner's login email. The top of the page says where they go.
Emails from MakeHay
Setup emails from MakeHay is a separate switch for a few emails in your first week about getting your first quote out. They go to your login email, and the switch saves as soon as you flip it. Account emails, like password resets, always arrive.
