Customers and requests

Take requests with a request form

Build a form people fill in to ask for a quote, then share its link or put it on your website. Every submission lands in Requests.

Who can do this
People with the Request forms permission

A request form collects a lead's name, contact details and what they need. Each submission shows up under Requests, and you get an email.

  1. Step 1: Go to Settings › Request forms, or click Form settings on the Requests page, and click New form.
  2. Step 2: Enter a Form name and, if you like, some Intro text.
  3. Step 3: A new form asks for name, email and phone. Click Add question to ask more, then set its Question, Answer type and whether it's Required. Drag questions to reorder them.
  4. Step 4: For the job site address or a message, add a question and pick Job site address or Message box under Built-in questions in Answer type.
  5. Step 5: Under After they submit, set the Button text and Thank-you message, and choose whether to Email visitors a confirmation.
  6. Step 6: Check the preview (on a narrow screen, click Preview), then click Create form.

Answer types are Short answer, Paragraph, Dropdown, Choose multiple, Checkbox and Photo upload. Dropdown and Choose multiple take up to 30 choices, one per line.

Share it

Click the arrow on the form's card to open its details. There are three ways to share it, each with a Copy button:

  • Link: a page with your name and logo, for a button, a QR code, your Google Business profile or a text message.
  • Popup button: code for a button that opens the form over your web page.
  • Embed: code that puts the form on a page. Paste it into a Custom HTML or Code block in WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow or GoDaddy. On Wix, open the Wix note under the tabs for plain iframe code, or use the link.

Good to know: Turn off Form is live to stop taking requests. The link then shows a not found page.

Tip: Add the Job site address question so a request can become a draft quote in one click. See Turn a request into a customer and a quote.

Tip: Preview or edit the email changes the confirmation visitors get. To stop the email you get for each request, turn off New request in Settings › Notifications.
