Settings › Emails lists every email your customers get from you. You can change the subject line and the opening of each one. The details, buttons and footer are always included.
- Step 1: Open Settings, then Emails.
- Step 2: Click an email to open it. The preview shows it with sample details.
- Step 3: Type your own Subject line and Opening. Leave a field blank to keep the default. A blank line starts a new paragraph.
- Step 4: To add a detail that changes with each email, like the customer's name, click one of the Variables. It goes into the field you were last typing in. If that field is blank, the default wording is filled in first so you can edit it.
- Step 5: Check the preview. A variable that filled in is green. Red means it isn't a variable for this email and would go out exactly as typed.
- Step 6: Click Save.
Test it or undo it
- Send me a test emails what you typed, saved or not, to your own login email. Its subject starts with [Test].
- Reset to default puts back the original wording.
- An email with your own wording is tagged Customized. Unsaved means you have changes you haven't saved.
Good to know: An open email lists what is Always included, like totals, due dates and buttons, so you don't need to repeat them. A subject can be up to 200 characters and an opening up to 3,000.
