Turn automatic follow-up emails on or off
Automations email your customers for you: quote follow-ups, overdue invoice reminders, visit reminders and review requests.

Automations are emails that go out on their own, so nobody has to remember to send them. Some may already be on from when you set up your account.
The four automations
- Quote follow-up: one nudge to a customer who hasn't answered a quote after the number of days you pick. See Follow up on quotes automatically.
- Overdue invoice reminders: a reminder once an invoice is past its due date, at most one every 7 days and three per invoice. See Remind customers about overdue invoices.
- Visit reminders: an email the day before every scheduled visit, with the job title and the time.
- Review requests: a thank-you with a button to your review link when an invoice is paid. See Ask customers for a review automatically.
Turn one on or off
- Step 1: Open Automations from the main menu.
- Step 2: Flip the switch on the right of a row. A message confirms it turned on or off.
- Step 3: To see the details, click the row or the arrow next to its switch. How it works explains exactly when it sends.
- Step 4: For Quote follow-up, pick the Days to wait and click Save. For Review requests, paste your Review link and click Save.
The line under each name says what it does while it's on, or what it still needs. An open row also shows how many times it has sent and when it last did.
Visit reminders
Visit reminders go out the day before each visit, in your company's timezone, to the customer's primary contact. A visit already marked done or skipped doesn't get one.
Check the email it sends
Open a row to read its email with sample details. Click Send me a test to get it in your own inbox, or Edit email to change the wording. See Change the wording of your customer emails.
Good to know: Automated emails end with an unsubscribe link. A customer who uses it stops getting reminders, follow-ups and review requests, even a reminder you send yourself. They aren't emailed about your messages either, which still wait in their client portal. Quotes, invoices, receipts and photo updates still reach them.
