Quotes and measuring

Choose what your customer sees on a quote

Hide quantities, unit prices or line totals, show category totals only, and set default terms, tax and expiry for new quotes.

Who can do this
People with the Create & edit quotes permission. Changing the defaults needs the Company profile permission.

You always see every line and price. These settings only change your customer's copy.

On one quote

  1. Step 1: In the quote builder, click Client view near the bottom of Totals.
  2. Step 2: Turn off Show quantities, Show unit prices or Show line totals to hide them.
  3. Step 3: Or turn on Show category totals only to hide every line and price and show one subtotal per category.
  4. Step 4: Click Preview to check the result.

These switches save as soon as you flip them. Category totals use each line's category. A line from your price list starts with its service's category, and you can change it by tapping the summary under the line. To change the terms on one quote, click Edit next to Terms.

Defaults for new quotes

  1. Step 1: Go to Settings › Company and find Quotes & invoices.
  2. Step 2: Set the Default tax rate (%), how long quotes stay open in Quote valid for (days), and the Default terms printed on every quote.
  3. Step 3: Under New quote client view, choose what new quotes show.
  4. Step 4: Click Save changes.

Good to know: Defaults apply to quotes you create from now on. Existing quotes keep their settings, and you can still change any of them on a single quote.
