Find your way around MakeHay

On a computer, the main menu runs down the left side of the screen. On a phone, it's behind the menu button at the top left. See Use MakeHay on your phone.

The main menu

• Search at the top finds any customer, quote, invoice, job or request. See Search for anything.
• Dashboard: what needs your attention today.
• Calendar: your scheduled visits.
• Customers: the people and businesses you work for, and their job sites. A number here counts unread customer messages and documents waiting for your review.
• Requests: work requests that come in from your request form.
• Quotes, Jobs and Invoices: the work, from price to payment.
• Reports: how the business is doing.
• Automations: follow-ups and reminders that send themselves.
• Settings: your company, prices, team and account.

Good to know: You only see the parts of MakeHay your permissions allow. If something is missing, ask the account owner.

Settings

Click Settings to open it, or click the arrow next to it to jump straight to a section. The sections are Company, Services, Document templates, Request forms, Website, Payments, Team, Permissions, Notifications, Emails, Add-ons, Referrals and Account. Payments, Add-ons, Referrals and Account are for the account owner only.

At the bottom of the menu and the screen

• Your name opens your account menu: Account to change the name shown on your account, Settings, Help & feedback and Sign out.
• The bar at the bottom right of every page opens the help assistant. Ask it how to do anything in MakeHay. Its life ring button, Help & feedback, sends a message to the MakeHay team. See Get help or send feedback.

Tip: To give pages more room, click the Collapse sidebar button next to your company name at the top of the menu. The menu shrinks to icons, and MakeHay remembers your choice in that browser. Click Expand sidebar to widen it again.
