A demo is a finished site at your MakeHay address, live until the date shown on your dashboard and on Website. Nothing on it changes when you buy it; what changes is that it stays, on the address you choose.
- Step 1: Click Buy the website on the dashboard notice, the website tile or your Website page.
- Step 2: Under Your address, pick one: Get a new domain shows names for your business with their prices, Use a domain I own takes the domain you already have, and Keep my MakeHay address leaves things as they are.
- Step 3: For a new domain, pick a name and check the owner details: the domain is registered in your name, so use your own email and a phone with its area code.
- Step 4: Choose monthly or yearly and click Pay and launch. Stripe takes the payment.
- Step 5: Back on your Website page, the address is set up on its own as soon as the payment lands: a new name is registered and live within minutes; a domain you own shows the two records to add where it is managed.
Good to know: A new domain's first year is on MakeHay for names under $50 a year. From the second year it renews at the price shown when you chose it, billed to the card on your MakeHay account about a month before.
Tip: If a name can't be registered after you pay, MakeHay emails you and the site stays on its MakeHay address until you pick another under Your address.
